Tips for fire safety

Prevention of fire is the most important component of fire safety. In the United States most fires occur during the time of cooking and even many deaths from fire are reported due to cigarette smoking. Here are some useful tips on how to prevent fire.

• Always make sure your stove or oven is switched off after every use. Do not switch it on and go somewhere else.
• Avoid smoking in the bed which is really dangerous.
• Children should be under the supervision of elders when handling kitchen appliances. They should not use if their parents are not there.
• Take care that your smoke alarms are in perfect working condition.
• Always make sure you have a fire extinguisher in every room as well as in the kitchen.
• In case of accidents or fire, make sure you have an escape plan too.
• Always make sure that your electrical appliances and the cords are in good working condition.

You should take precautions against fire to safeguard your house, your property, your office, apartment etc. So, always take precautions to reduce the possibility of fire by using fire extinguishers. If these instructions are followed carefully, one can definitely prevent fire and many accidents can be avoided.
